A very rare seen work. Painted in hand unlike most others.
Andy Warhol used this image in a large painting titled "Human Aura / Felix the Cat on 1985/86.
Sized 294,8 x 391,3 cm. The original painting on paper eas made into an acetate and screenprinted
on to canvas making the original work the sketch...
See photo from Andy Warhol "The late work - Paintings and Wallpapers" page 106. Also a photo of a photocopy
used for source material. Warhol took the found image and hand painted a similar but not identical image. Making the image his own.
He then took a photo of his own image and made an acetate from which he made a silk screen to duplicate the image onto cavnas.
This painting is the original hand painting made by Warhol. Sothebys had a private sale om works from the same series of uniques. Selling price was 150.000 usd per work.
