Rare footage from bethlehem where Banksy is interviewed on the works he did there in 2007.
Among those shown several times is "Donkey Documents". And thereby a formal authentication. Not that we needed one
but always nice to have. The clip originates from Banksys own website www.banksy.co.uk where the clip was shown for a short period in 2007.

When a piece of stenciled art on plywood appeared in Bristol in 2014 affixed to a public wall near the Broad Plains Boys Club, its leader Dennis Stinchcombe couldn’t be certain it was the work of Banksy. The piece depicted a man and woman staring into their cell phone screens, mid embrace, and although it bore both the visual aesthetic and wry sensibility of the Bristol-bred street art superstar, he was unable to confirm it.
All was calm until Banksy posted an image of the “Mobile Lovers” work on his website, essentially authenticating the work as his own. After that, Stinchcombe says, “This place went bananas.” Droves of people began showing up, turning the location into a pop-up spectacle.

from Joe Simons 2006 feature on The Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board (AWAAB). Sam Green and John Richardson talking about Andys method
of delegating the responsibility to make his art to others. "It did not matter who did it and who signed it. The important was the concept". If it was Andys concept and he delegeted it, then it was art.....

Banksys "Spy Booth" aka Chentenham Spies has been destroyed by builder who had been hired to repair the wall it had been sprayed on. Adieu to an artwork estimated at 1 million british pounds...!

Most of the findings of the former Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board (AWAAB) concerning the Brillo Boxes (Malmö type) are based on the opinion that all agreements were alswys done in writing. Pontus Hultén claimed right to his death that Andy gave him verbal permission to complete the body of work with the 105 boxes. Now it seems that verbal agreements certainly existed in regards to the iconic exhibition at Moderne Museet in Stockholm in 1968. In research material we have found 2 letters from Leo Castelli demanding a flower painting being returned. We know that Andy donated a large Electrical Chair painting to the musesum. The museum was in the opinion that Andy had donated both the Electrical Chair and a Flowers painting. How could any misunderstanding occur? Because no written agreement existed. Only a verbal where each party had a different opinion on what was agreed. And here is the proff.
